Packaging & Lens

This lens has pretty good bokeh. While it is not the smoothest, and it does display LOCA in the out of focus area’s, the bokeh is not displeasing. Like all lenses, the lens has good bokeh at specific distances. You can expect closer focus bokeh to be better, while distance bokeh gets somewhat busy. I feel that this is a good compromise, because a medium wide such as 35mm is generally used wide open at closer distances anyway. In the following image you will see what I mean.

Flesh Tones

Have a look in the above image and you will notice that flesh tones are rendered very well. As with all digital camera’s, you can expect a little white balance adjustment to get the tones just right. In this area, the NEX6 and the 35mm do very well. The lens also holds highlights well, and renders skin smoothly.

Here are some initial photos taken with the lens.
